Introduction:

With Thanksgiving ๐Ÿฆƒjust around the corner, I would like to express my gratitude for corporate training and the role of a trainer. Being a trainer provides an opportunity to turn a job into a passion that drives personal and professional growth. I discovered this during my transition from leading classroom training to on-the-job training.

 

Early in my career, I worked as a contact center trainer. The training lasted for six weeks, with the first two weeks being in the classroom and the following four being on the job. I used to conduct eight or nine classes per year and every time I switched from one to the other, I realized how much I enjoyed both. It was like playing a guitar ๐ŸŽธthat I haven’t played in a while; I own quite a few guitars and tend to play one for a few months before switching to another. Whenever I pick up a guitar that I haven’t played in a while, it reminds me of why I purchased it in the first place and reignites my passion for it.

Whether it’s incorporating gamification ๐Ÿ•น๏ธ, artificial intelligence ๐Ÿค–, or interactive simulations, the passion for staying ahead of the curve enhances the overall effectiveness of training programs. It shows that you are not just a lifelong learner, but also an advocate for change. It sets an example for your learners and helps foster exciting adventures for both trainers and learners.

5. Nurturing a Collaborative Learning Culture

Passionate trainers recognize the value of fostering a culture of collaboration within organizations. When done broadly and consistently, this culture can make its way outside of the classroom and into meetings and events involving anyone from the learning team.
